La Nuit Dévoilée was created in 2013 in the great nave of the Noirlac Abbey, France. Since its early success, La Nuit Dévoilée has travelled aound the world; from the Beijing Opera to the Tokyo Folle Journée, from the Taipei Opera to the French Vezelay Abbey... over 100 performances, and just as many standing ovations.

A fully spatialised show

Mikrokosmos has always been attempting to free itself from the unalterable concerts rituals: artists' entrance, applause psalmody, solemn silence, sacred gestures of the artists, strict succession of the opus. It is from this dramaturgic arhitecture, inherited from a splendid concerts' history, that Mikrokosmos invented another scenography with La Nuit Dévoilée to dive deeper to the heart of the choral matter.

A journey at the heart of voices

Designed as a big arch divided into three nocturnal movements, La Nuit Dévoilée invites composers with opposite aesthetics, brings them together, and tunes them up. Here, times dissolve, artists mould, languages intertwine and harmonies kiss. Immersed within choral matter, the audience vibrates through palpable contact with sounds and moving bodies. This unveiled night finds its place everywhere and fits in all edifices, modeled on the architectural and acoustic properties of the flod space; fascinating work undertaken by Mikrokosmos.

In a cercle, a double circle, around the audience, in lines, in clusters or huddled in chapel the audience cannot see; these choral images naturally emerge from the musical architecture. Not forgetting the light, with a meticulous shade around tempi fluctuations, crepuscular harmonies and called in languages.
